exposure when photographing very bright, very
dark, or high-contrast subjects. The eff ect is vis-
ible in the display.

the shooting mode.

Exposure Value (EV)
The exposure value is determined by the sensitiv-
ity of the image sensor and the amount of light to
which the sensor is exposed. Doubling the amount
increases EV by one, while halving it reduces EV by
one. The amount of light entering the camera can be
controlled by adjusting aperture and shutter speed.
