Close-ups (Macro and Super Macro Modes)
Macro mode can be used for close-ups in

modes (pp. 36–46). Macro mode is automatically selected in
V
and
W
scene modes; to select macro
or super macro mode in other modes, press the selector left (

) to cycle through macro options as
shown below.

When macro mode is in eff ect, the camera focuses on subjects near the center of the frame. Use the
zoom control to compose pictures. In super macro mode, zoom can not be adjusted and the fl ash can
not be used. Super macro is not available in
C
,
V
, and
W
scene modes.
To exit macro mode, press the selector left (
e
) until
g
is displayed. Macro mode can also be cancelled
by turning the camera off or selecting another shooting mode.

Notes
• Use of a tripod is recommended to prevent blur caused by camera shake.
• Flash compensation may be required when using the fl ash (pg. 85).
