GENERAL REMARKS
PRINCIPLE OF THE VST 247 / 317 / 317-2
This welding machine is a MIG/MAG gas-shielded unit with optimum welding
properties. Its area of application ranges from sheet-metalworking all the way
up to light structural steel work and portal construction. Its ability to weld flux-
cored wires of various different diameters and alloys under various commonly
available shielding gases extends its area of use to take in the production and
repair fields. It goes without saying that this machine comes with pre-
selectable control routines such as 2-step, 4-step, intermittent 2-step, inter-
mittent 4-step and spot-welding.
MACHINE CONCEPT - VST 247 / 317
The VST 247/317 was designed as a compact unit and is built to function
dependably under even the toughest operating conditions. Features such as
its powder-coated sheet-steel housing, protected controls and torch central
connector all testify to the high quality of its design. Thanks to its insulated
carrying handle and large-wheeled trolley, the machine is easy to move
around - both in the workshop and out in the field. A detachable side panel keeps
any grinding dust, swarf etc. out of the drive system.
MACHINE CONCEPT - VST 317-2
The VST 317-2 was designed as a two-part unit and is built to function
dependably under even the toughest operating conditions. Features such as
its powder-coated sheet-steel housing, protected controls and torch central
connector all testify to the high quality of its design. Thanks to its insulated
carrying handle and large-wheeled trolley, the machine is easy to move
around.
The portable Vario 8 wirefeeder unit can either be placed on top of the power
source or mounted on an intermediate trolley so as to extend the operating
range. A tilt-up side panel keeps any grinding dust, swarf etc. out of the drive
system. The wire spool is also protected against dust and splash-water by
a plastic box.
