USE OF THE SLOW JUICER SJ 4065
4.1. Tips before use with the fine sieve
1.
Completely roll out the power cord and plug in the appliance.
2.
Assemble the Slow Juicer as shown here above (point 3).
3.
Do not use the Slow Juicer for more than 20 minutes continuously. After a use
of 20 minutes, a resting time of 20 minutes must be respected before re-using
it again.
4.
Only use fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs.
TIP: fruit and vegetables at ambient temperature will give more juice than fruit
and vegetables coming right out of the refrigerator.
TIP: Some herbs have very bitter stems, sometimes even wood-like. In these
cases, it is recommended to remove the stems.
5.
Remove the hard core from fruit, such as seeds.
6.
Remove the peel from citrus fruit to avoid bitterness.
7.
Add the ingredients one by one into the filling shaft. Wait for the first ingredient
to be processed before adding the next. This will give the best result. The
quantity of juice also depends on the level of water in the ingredients.
8.
Ingredients containing a lot of fibers (i.e. celery) must be cut in pieces before
adding them to the filling shaft (5-10 cm). Ingredients containing extremely
much fibers (i.e. mango, berries, shiitake …) must be cut into pieces of 3 cm.
9.
When using less fresh ingredients or ingredients that staid in the refrigerator for
a long time, the juice volume will be smaller. If you use dry ingredients, it’s
best to let them soak in water for about 10 min. so that they can absorb the
water and give better results. Or use them combined with ingredients containing
a lot of water (i.e. pear or orange)
10.
Always cut hard ingredients, such as carrots etc. into small
sticks. Otherwise
it could get stuck and cause damage to the Slow Juicer.
11.
Slow juicing harder ingredients, such as carrots or apples, can create some
noise because of the friction, but this has no influence on the functioning of the
appliance. The Slow Juicer might also shake a bit, but this is completely normal.
12.
When slow juicing ingredients such as seedless cherries, tomatoes, grapes …
the juice will come out smoothly.
13.
When slow juicing lemons, oranges … it is recommended to remove peel and
seeds to avoid a bitter taste.
14.
When slow juicing darker ingredients such as carrot, beet … the plastic parts
may take up a bit of the color, this is normal and has no influence on further
use.
15.
Do not re-use the pulp that has come out in the Slow Juicer again. There are
other creative solutions to re-use the pulp, i.e. let it dry and add it to cereals or
cookie dough.
