Braking
Braking ability is affected by the type of terrain. In most cases, gradually application of the brakes is
more effective than abrupt braking, particularly on loose surfaces like gravel.
Always allow for greater braking distance on rough, loose, or slippery surfaces.
Maximum slope angle: 15°
Choose carefully which hills you attempt to climb. Avoid hills with slippery surfaces or ones where you
will not be able to see far enough ahead of you.
WARNING
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Operating on excessively steep hills.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
The vehicle can overturn more easily on extremely steep hills
than on level surfaces or small hills.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Never operate your vehicle on hills too steep for it or your
abilities. Never operate vehicles on hills steeper than 15°.
Do not drive across the face of a hill. Go straight up the hill.
Practice on smaller hills before attempting large hills.
