Room or outside temperature is too
hot.

Freezer has been recently
disconnected for a period of time.

Large amounts of warm or hot food
have been stored recently.

It is normal for the freezer to work
harder under these conditions.

Freezer requires 4 hours to cool down
completely.

Warm food will cause the freezer to
run more until the desired
temperature is reached.

Warm air enters the freezer every
time the lid is opened. Open the lid
less often.

See item “lid does not close”.

Turn the control to a warmer setting.
Allow several hours for the
temperature to stabilize.

Freezer runs too much or too long

Freezer lid may be slightly open.

Temperature control is set too cold.

Freezer lid seal is dirty, worn, cracked,
or poorly fitted.

Connect the plug to electrical outlet.

Repair the plug.

Wait until the power is back.

Check/reset circuit breaker or
replace fuse with 15-Amp time delay
fuse.

Common problems

In case your freezer is presenting any operating problems, check the probable
causes in the table below. You can solve common problems easily. If the
operation does not improve, contact the Frigidaire Authorized Service.

Check electrical installations.

See the temperature control setting
section.
