Daimler Safety Training. Failure to do so could
cause severe personal injury or death.
1.
Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down
the vehicle, and apply the parking brake. Chock
the tires.
2.
Decommission the vehicle. See the
eCascadia
™
Workshop Manual
for procedures.
3.
Remove the deck plate and high voltage
protection covers located on the right and left
side of the vehicle.
4.
Inspect the condition of the high voltage
connectors. Check for signs of excess dirt/debris
build up on or around the connectors. Clean
exterior debris from the connectors using a dry
method such as a vacuum cleaner.
5.
Inspect high voltage harnesses for secured
routing that prevents excess harness movement
and prevents the harness from pulling too tight
on the connector. Inspect harnesses for signs of
rubbing or chafing that could result in wire circuit
damage. Damaged wiring and/or damage to
harness protective wrap must be replaced. All
high voltage cables have specific routing that
cannot be changed. When performing the
harness routing check, make sure the bend
diameter of the high voltage cables is within
tolerance (if routed correctly, this should not be a
problem). See
and
. Check for the
following:
•
broken clamps or ties and worn or
damaged cables where fasteners touch the
cables;
•
fix cable routing, as required, by removing
fasteners.
IMPORTANT: Do not over bend cables. Doing
so may cause damage to the cables which may
result in a loss of power to the vehicle.
NOTE: Removing fasteners requires that the
vehicle be decommissioned.
08–03 Cable Gland Protection
Inspection
IMPORTANT: Cable gland protection provides
corrosion protection to the cable gland to
inverter housing located in multple areas
throughout the vehicle.
1.
Inspect all cable glands to make sure corrosion
protection is not worn or damaged.
2.
If the corrosion protection is damaged, apply
anti-corrosion dielectric spray (48-25901-000) to
the assembled cable gland.
2.1
Apply the spray to cover all exposed
metallic surfaces of the cable gland with
not more than a 10 mm skirt on the
surrounding surface of the connection.
NOTE: Do not spray the anti-corrosion spray
on any part of the cable or coverings and/or
tape.

cable glands.
