Pairing your Freedom Personal Safety to a Windows Mobile Pocket PC:
Pairing the GPS unit:
1) Turn the Freedom Personal Safety GPS unit on.
2) On the Pocket PC click on the Start Menu
3) From the Start Menu click on “Settings” and then click on the “Connections”
tab.
3) Click on Bluetooth and click "add new device".
4) It will search for any nearby Bluetooth devices. Once it has finished
searching select “Freedom Personal Safety GPS” from the list and click “next”.
5) When prompted enter the passcode which is 0000 (four zeros) and then
click next.
6) On the next screen tick the "Serial Port" box and click finish.
7) You will now see “Freedom Personal Safety GPS” listed as a paired device.
8) Click on the "COM Ports" tab and then click on "New Outgoing Port".
9) Select “Freedom Personal Safety GPS” from the list and click next.
10) Select one of the ports from the drop down list and make a note of which
number it is.
11) UNTICK the secure connection box and click finish.
11) You will now see “Freedom Personal Safety GPS” listed with the COM port
you selected listed next to it.
12) Click on the ok icon on the top right of the screen.
13) Now click on the “System” tab at the bottom of the screen.
12) Click on the "External GPS” icon. If you do not have this icon you can finish
the pairing process here.
13) Under the “Programs tab” select any port for the "GPS Program Port" and
make a note of it.
14) Click on the “Hardware Tab” and click on the “GPS Hardware Port” drop
down list and select the COM you assigned earlier in step 10.
15) Click the “Access” tab and make sure the "Manage GPS automatically
(recommended)" box is ticked.
16) Click OK in the top right corner.
