SAW BLADE TENSIONING
WARNING!
A too high tensioning can break the saw blade. If the tensioning is too low, the saw blade can slip
from the driving wheel and stop.
Saw blade’s tensioning must be adjusted according to the different width of the saw blades in order to obtain a
correct alignment and efficiency and suitable life’s length.
•
Lift the upper blade guide completely (E)
Fig. 1
.
•
To check blade’s tensioning, push sideways the saw blade, in the middle between the workbench and the
upper blade guide: the saw blade must bend on its side from 1 to a maximum of 2 mm.
•
If necessary, adjust saw blade’s tension:
−
turn the handle (B)
Fig. 1
clockwise to increase the tension;
−
turn the handle (B)
Fig. 1
anti-clockwise to reduce the tension.
ADJUSTMENT KNOB OF THE POSITION OF THE SAW BLADE
To work correctly the saw blade must be centred on the rubber coatings of the flywheel. If it is not aligned you must
modify upper flywheel’s inclination. By using the knob ( 29 ) you can modify the inclination of the flywheel and thus:
•
turn the knob (A)
Fig. 16
clockwise to move the blade backwards.
•
turn the knob (A)
Fig. 16
anti-clockwise to move the blade forwards.
•
to lock upper flywheel’s inclination, tighten the plastic wing screw (B)
Fig. 16
located under the adjustment
knob (A).
WORKBENCH INCLINATION
The workbench can be moved up to 45° for oblique cutting. To move it, observe the following instructions:
•
Raise the upper blade guide completely (E)
Fig. 1
.
•
Check saw blade tensioning.
•
Loosen the wing screw (A)
Fig. 7
.
•
Turn the workbench according to the desired angle.
•
Lastly, tighten the lever (A)
Fig. 7
.
ADJUSTMENT OF THE UPPER BLADE GUIDE’S HEIGHT
The height of the upper blade guide (E)
Fig. 1
must be adjusted:
•
before each cutting to adapt it to workbench’s height (during cutting the upper blade guide must be about 3
mm over the workpiece);
•
After any modifications to the saw blade or to the workbench (as for example after changing or tensioning of
the saw blade, or after adjusting the workbench);
•
The upper blade guide (C)
Fig. 11
can be moved by using the knob (D)
Fig. 1
;
turn it anti-clockwise to make
the upper blade guide go down and clockwise to make it go up.
