IMPORTANT:
To the installer: Installation of these units should be carried out by a competent person and
the appropriate codes of practice adhered to, thus ensuring safe installation.
Pass to the user: Do not discard this document: it contains important guidelines on
Operation, Loading, Cleaning and Maintenance and should be kept for reference.
DISPOSAL REQUIREMENTS
If not disposed of properly all refrigerators have components that can be
harmful to the environment. All old refrigerators must be disposed of by
appropriately registered and licensed waste contractors, and in accordance
with National laws and regulations.
For Modular BC/BCF installation please see separate instructions.
Important:
Ensure a minimum clearance of 150mm above unit and ventilation for
efficient operation. Where possible, ensure the unit is not adjacent to a heat source.
Unpacking:
The unit is delivered on a pallet and shrink-wrapped. Documentation is inserted into a clear
pocket located inside the unit. Carefully remove the protective plastic film and cardboard from the
unit exterior and from the door opening surround making sure that any sharp instrument used does not
cause damage, plus remove any quality labels.
Cabinet removal from the pallet:
Remove the package containing the castors or legs. Remove the
retaining bolts which secures the unit to the pallet. Move the unit over the front of the pallet and fit the
lockable castors or legs in the mounting holes if required. To fit the rear castors or legs, lock the front
castors, tilt the unit forwards, remove the pallet and fit the castors or legs in the mounting holes. Ensure
that all are tightened firmly into position.
Cabinets fitted with castors -
Remove fittings from inside the unit and ensure the door is locked before
removal from the pallet. Cut the heavy duty cable ties that hold the front castors to the pallet. Unlock the
castors and then carefully roll the unit forward off the pallet.
Cabinets fitted with legs -
Remove fittings from inside the unit and ensure the door is locked before
removal from the pallet. Remove the fixing blocks located in front of the legs at the front of the unit and
cut the straps securing the unit to the pallet. Carefully manoeuvre the unit forward, off the pallet.

BCCF RI 1 only
Narrow site access may require door removal. It is necessary to remove the
unit compartment cover to gain access to the door hinge.
a) Remove unit compartment cover. (fig. 4).
b) Remove the locknut from the bottom hinge bracket (see fig. 5).
c) Remove the M5 hex screw from the top hinge bracket and push down
on the spring loaded cartridge top (fig. 6).
The door is then free to be pulled clear of the top hinge bracket and then
lifted clear of the bottom hinge bracket (fig. 6).

BCCF 1 and BCCF RI 1
Fit electrically operated condensate vapouriser tray to the external rear wall
of the BCCF RI 1 using the screws provided. For the BCCF 1 slide the tray
into the retainers beneath the cabinet. Alternatively connect drain pipe direct
to a main drain via the use of a bolt on tundish.

Limpieza / mantenimiento
Con los cuidados adecuados en acero inoxidable tiene la capacidad de resistir a la corrosión
durante muchos años. Para ello se recomienda el siguiente régimen de limpieza semanal.
a. Exterior: Utilizar un producto adecuado para mantener el acero inoxidable.
b. Interior: Limpiar con agua jabonosa, aclarar y secar todo el interior.
Atención:
Con los productos alcalinos de limpieza o con los que contengan lejía, ácido o cloro ya que son
muy dañinos para el acero inox. pudiendo provocar corrosión. En el caso de producirse un contac-
to accidental de alguna de estas sustancias, proceder a eliminarlo inmediatamente.
No se bebe de usar nunca, en la limpieza, lana metálica.
Una vez finalizada la limpieza, dejar a la unidad recuperar la temperatura de mantenimiento antes
de proceder a la carga de producto.
Durante el funcionamiento, cualquier salpicadura debe de limpiarse lo antes posible.

Nota: Antes de una limpieza interna, desconectar la unidad.
La limpieza del condensador se deberá de realizar, anualmente, por un servicio autorizado por Foster.

Los diferentes tipos de alimentos se enfrían en diferentes tiempos influenciados por
diferentes factores que es necesario considerar cuando determinemos el tiempo de
enfriamiento o congelación y que programa deberemos de utilizar.
Por ejemplo 10 kg. De carne tendrán una consideración muy diferente a 10 kg. Charcutería.
Afectará al tiempo del ciclo la densidad, contenido de agua, contenido de grasa,..
A la hora de seleccionar el programa, también habrá de considerar el tipo de estructura y
superficie del producto.
Las cargas de producto y los espesores no deben de ser excesivos. Foster recomienda una
carga máxima de 3.75 kg. Por cada cubeta gn.1/1.
Las porciones grandes de carne no podrán ser enfriadas dentro del tiempo estipulado, por lo
que se recomienda porcionarlo antes del enfriamiento, o el enfriamiento lo antes posible.
Los productos que entren más calientes que lo recomendado, lógicamente emplearan más
tiempo en enfriarse.
Las tapas y las cubetas muy profundas, también alargarán los ciclos de trabajo.
Es esencial que se produzca una buena circulación para facilitar un enfriamiento consistente.
Siempre comprobar, antes y después del ciclo, la temperatura de los alimentos.
No cargar en exceso las cubetas. La recomendación es que no sobrepasen de 25 mm. Y
mantenerlo extendido.
Permitir un descanso, de 30 minutos, al producto después de cocinarlo.
No sobrecargar el abatidor, ya que esto incidirá en el tiempo requerido para acabar el ciclo.
Siempre limpiar y esterilizar la sonda antes de cada uso.
Utilizar cubetas de tamaño manejable para líquidos calientes.
Para la mejora de los tiempos de enfriamiento se recomienda el ciclo de enfriamiento.
Ante la incertidumbre del comportamiento del producto, utilizar siempre la sonda.

Fallos en el funcionamiento
Las comprobaciones deben de realizarse mediante personas competentes.
Antes de llamar a un servicio autorizado por Foster realizar las siguientes comprobaciones:
a) Fallo en el suministro eléctrico.
b) Fallo de unos de los tipos que se indican en el manual en Avisos y Alarmas.
c) Daño en el cable de conexión eléctrica.
Siempre que se requiera asistencia técnica apuntar los siguientes datos:
a) Número de serie de la unidad (E_________)
b) Modelo de la unidad que se indica en la placa.
c) Código de fallo, si este se describe el visor.
