OIL FOR PNEUMATIC TOOLS
y
For operational reasons, it is necessary to regularly lub-
ricate pneumatic tools with oil designed for pneumatic
tools, which is available on the market from a number
of manufacturers. Oil designed for pneumatic tools
does not froth and is not aggressive against sealing
elements in the tool. Using a sander without sufficient
lubrication with oil designed for pneumatic tools will
result in its damage.
IV. Parts and control
elements
•
ATTENTION
y
The components and control elements shown on fig.
3 are described on the Extol® Premium 8865038 sander
model, and the Fortum®4795038 sander model has
the same parts and control elements and differs only
slightly in its design.

V. Preparation for using
the sander
•
ATTENTION
y
Before using the sander, carefully read the entire user‘s
manual as the manufacturer takes no responsibility for
damages on the tool or product caused by inappropri-
ate use that is in contradiction with this user‘s manual.
Keep the user‘s manual with the product so that its
user may become acquainted with it. Prevent this user‘s
manual from being destroyed.
1) Selecting a sufficiently powerful compressor
y
To achieve maximum performance of the sander,
the compressor must have sufficient power, see
point 1) in chapter Technical specifications. In the
case of short-term non-continuous work with suffi-
ciently long breaks between the use of the sander,
it is possible to compensate the insufficient flow
rate of the compressor by a sufficient volume of the
pressure vessel, for further information see chapter
Technical specifications.
2) Selecting an air hose for connection to
the compressor
y
The air hose must have an inner diameter of at least
8 mm to enable a sufficient air flow rate, which
is important for the performance of the sander,
see for example recommended Extol® Premium
8865135 Spiral hose.

SANDPAPERS
y
Sandpapers with various grit sizes can be attached on to
the sander. The smaller the grit size on the sandpaper, the
less material is removed from the sanded material. To sand
away material, select a sandpaper with a larger grit size,
for sanding out unevenness, e.g. sanding areas with pee-
ling paint, select a medium grit size and for final surface
finishing, e.g. preparation for varnishing, select a fine grit
size. The higher the PXY number the smaller the grit size.

AIR HOSE
y
To achieve maximum performance from the sander,
an air hose with an internal diameter of at least 8 mm
should be used. We recommend the Extol® Premium

couplers, with an internal diameter of 8 mm and a len-
gth of 8 m.
