Lighting
Front direction indicators
If you are changing a bulb in the left 1.
headlight unit, start the engine, turn
the steering wheel all the way to the
left, and turn off engine. If you are
changing a bulb in the right headlight
unit, turn the steering wheel to the
right.
Make sure the ignition switch is 2.
turned off and the headlight switch
is off.
Turn the screws counterclockwise 3.
and remove them.
Turn the centre section of the plastic 4.
retainers counterclockwise and
remove them, then partially peel
back the mudguard.
Turn the socket and bulb assembly 5.
counterclockwise and remove it.
CAUTION
The bulb’s metal base gets very
hot during headlamp operation.
Be sure the bulb base is cool before
handling. If the bulb is accidentally
touched, it should be cleaned with
rubbing alcohol before being used.
Open the bonnet. See 1.
Opening
and closing the bonnet (page
105).
Make sure the ignition switch is 2.
turned off and the headlight switch
is off.
Turn the socket and bulb assembly 3.
counterclockwise and remove it.
Note:
Carefully remove the headlight
bulb from its socket in the reflector by
gently pulling it straight backward out of
the socket.
Disconnect the bulb from the 4.
electrical connector by pressing
the tab on the connector with your
finger and pulling the bulb upward.
