2.  Install  gas  piping  into  fireplace  location. 

This installation includes an approved flex

-

ible gas line (if allowed by local codes) after 

the equipment shutoff valve. The flexible 

gas line must be the last item installed on 

the gas piping. See

 Installing Gas Piping 

to Fireplace Location

, page 13.

3.  Carefully  set  fireplace  in  front  of  rough 

opening with back of fireplace inside wall 

opening.

4.  Carefully insert fireplace into rough 

opening.

5.  Attach  flexible  gas  line  to  gas  supply. 

See 

Connecting Fireplace to Gas Supply,

 

page 14.

6.  Attach fireplace to wall studs using nails 

or wood screws through holes in nailing 

flange (see Figure 15).

7.  Check all gas connections for leaks. See 

Checking Gas Connections

, page 15.

8.  Plug electrical cord into electrical outlet 

installed in step 2.

9.  Install trim after final finishing and/or paint

-

ing of wall (see Figure 7, page 9).

IMPORTANT: 

When  finishing  your  firebox, 

combustible  materials  such  as  wall  board, 

gypsum board, sheet rock, drywall, plywood, 

etc. may be butted up next to the sides and top 

of the firebox. Combustible materials should 

never overlap the firebox front facing.

 WARNING: Do not allow any 

combustible materials to overlap 

the firebox front facing.

IMPORTANT

: Noncombustible materials such 

as brick, tile, etc. may overlap the front facing, 

but should never cover any necessary open-

ings like louvered slots or screen assembly.

 WARNING: Do not allow 

noncombustible  materials  to 

cover any necessary openings 

like louvered slots.

 WARNING: Use only noncom-

bustible mortar or adhesives when 

overlapping the front facing with 

noncombustible facing material.
