V TYPE:
Set the picture size according ti the
aspect ratio of your TV. TV sets traditionally have an
aspect ratio of 4:3. Since most DVD discs are
recorded in “wide aspect ratio” formats, the picture
must be adjusted to fit on your screen
4:3 PS
: The Pan and Scan presentation crops both
sides of the wide screen format to fill a standard 4:3
television screen.
4:3 LB:
The Letterbox presentation places black
bars at the top and bottom portions of the screen to
provide the full wide screen format of a movie on a
standard 4:3 television screen.
16:9:
When connecting to a wide screen 16:9
television, select this option. The unit automatically
sets and outputs a recorded signal in correct aspect
ratio. Be sure to set the screen mode on your wide
screen TV to “FULL”.
Notes
• The default setting is 4:3 PS.
• Some DVD discs do not permit Pan and Scan
mode playback and will automatically playback in
Letterbox mode, and vice versa.
• If the 16:9 wide screen option is selected with a
standard 4:3 television, the playback picture will
appear distorted (objects will look thin).
PASSWORD:
Enter a 4 digit code.
RATING:
Select NO ADULT, KID SAFE or VIEW ALL
• The default setting is VIEW ALL.
DEFAULT:
Select
RESTORE
and press the ENTER
button to restore to all factory default settings.
System Setup
TV SYSTEM
: Select the color system compatible
with the connected TV.
NTSC
: If the connected TV uses NTSC system,
select this mode. It will change the video signal of
a PAL disc to output in NTSC format (used in the
USA, Canada and Japan).
PAL 60:
PAL:
If the connected TV uses a PAL system,
select this mode. It will change the video signal of
a NTSC disc to output in the PAL format (used in
Western Europe)
AUTO:
Select this mode when the connected TV
that uses a multisystem mode. The output format
will adjust to the video signal of each disc.
• The default setting is NTSC.
SCREEN SAVER:
Set the screen saver option to
ON or OFF.
• The default setting is ON.
VIDEO:
Setting the video output selects the video
output terminals.
INTERLACE - YUV:
Select if the video output is
connected to your TV using the supplied RCA
type (yellow) Video cable.
TV - RGB:
P -SCAN YPBPR
: Select if the DVD video output
is connected to your TV using the component
video
input (Pr/Cr Pb/Cb Y) jacks.
PC - VGA:
• The default setting is INTERLACE - YUV.
Language Setup
OSD LANGUAGE
: Select one of the five languages for the on-screen displays: ENGLISH, GERMAN,
SPANISH, FRENCH or PORTUGUESE.
AUDIO LANG:
Select one of the seven languages for the sound track: ENGLISH, JAPAN, FRENCH, SPANISH,
PORTUGUESE, LATIN or GERMAN.
Notes
• The languages will vary depending on what is recorded on the DVD disc.
SUBTITLE LANG:
Select one of the seven to display subtitles: ENGLISH, JAPAN, FRENCH, SPANISH,
PORTUGUESE, GERMAN or OFF.
MENU LANG:
Select one of the seven languages to display the menu options: ENGLISH, JAPAN, FRENCH,
SPANISH, PORTUGUESE, GERMAN or LATIN.
Note
• The default setting for all is ENGLISH.
