Introducing hands into the mouth of the pump is strictly prohibited if the pump is attached to the
power supply.
Below water level installation (with water supply beneath the electro-pump) - FIGURE 1
1) install the priming kit (A) in the box on the suction side (B)
2) Connect the suction tube (ref. 2) to the priming kit (C). Use a suction tube with a diameter equal to that of the suction mouth of the
electro-pump (ref. 1). If the suction height (HAA) is above 4 m, use tubing with a larger diameter. The suction height (HAS) must not be
over 5 mt. The suction tubing must be perfectly sealed; it must not have any goose neck and/or reverse gradients in order to avoid the
formation of air pockets that could compromise the regular operation of the electro-pump Install a foot valve (ref.4) with filter (ref.3) at
the end of the suction tube at approximately half a meter below the level of the liquid to be pumped (HI). A rigid tube is recommended
for this tubing
3) Connect the delivery tube to the threaded exit of the pump (D).
Above water level installation (with water supply above or at the same level as the electro-pump) - FIGURE 2
1) Install the priming kit (A) in the box on the suction side (B)
2)
Connect the suction tube (ref. 2) to the priming kit (C). Use a suction tube with a diameter equal to that of the suction mouth of the
electro-pump (ref. 1). If the suction height (HAA) is above 4 m, use tubing with a larger diameter. The suction height HAS) must not be
over 5 mt. The suction tubing must be perfectly sealed; it must not have any goose neck and/or reverse gradients in order to avoid the
formation of air pockets that could compromise the regular operation of the electro-pump
3)
Connect the delivery tube to the threaded exit of the pump (D)
In both cases in order to simplify the successive emptying and the discharge of the pressure from the system, we recommend that a
closing tap is mounted between the pump and delivery tube (ref.7) (not included in supply). In fixed installations the use of a flexible
connection tube between the delivery of the pump and the system tube is preferred in order to reduce noise.
If the pump is emptied by closing of the tap it is possible to prevent water leaking from the delivery tube.
We recommend installing a check valve directly on the delivery (
Fig. 1/2 ref.6
) to avoid any damage to the electro-pump caused by
blow strokes. In order to facilitate any maintenance operations we recommend the installation of an interception valve behind the
check valve (ref.7). The tubing must be fixed so that any vibrations, tensions and weights do not affect the electro-pump. The tubing
must cover the shortest and straightest course possible avoiding an excessive number of curves. Ensure that the motor is guaranteed
sufficient ventilation. In the event of fixed installations we recommend fixing the fixing plate of the electro-pump on the support surface,
connecting the system with a course of flexible tubing and the insertion of a layer of rubber (or other anti-vibration material) between
the support surface and the pump so as to reduce vibrations.
- PRESSURE TANK
(EXPANSION VESSEL FIGURE 3
)
We recommend installing an expansion vessel of at least 2 lt on the delivery side to facilitate the operating of the electro-pump.
Control the preload pressure of the tank before connecting the system: this value must be 0,5/0,8 Bar lower than the work pressure
(SET-POINT).
These pumps are suitable for use in garden ponds of similar places. In such zones it is obligatory to install a differential current device
which is not higher than 30 mA. If the apparatus is to be used continually in these same areas ensure that it is fixed to a stable support
to avoid it falling
WARNING!!!
The assembly of the connection tubing, both suction as well as delivery, must be carried out with maximum care. Ensure that all the
screw connections are watertight. Excessive force is, however, to be avoided during the tightening of the screw connections or other
components. Use Teflon tape to seal the joints.
Chap. 6 Starting up
Always visually check the pump before use (above all the supply cable and the plug). Do not use the pump if damaged.
If it is damaged the pump must exclusively controlled by customer service personnel
Priming
:
Danger electric shock: danger of harm due to electric current. Before proceeding to the priming
ensure that the pump is not connected to the electrical supply. Remove the plug from the plug hole
Warning! Empty operating of the pump. Before starting fill the pump and the suction tube
The FLOTEC ERGON automatic electro-pump range is not self-priming and cannot start without the
suction tube being filled with water
