In-flight Repositioning
When it is time to land, the instructor can reposition the aircraft to an ILS approach.
1) Select the FLIGHT FREEZE button. This freezes the aircraft at the current position.
2) Select the ACTIVE AIRPORT button on the Master Collar.
3) Review the Reposition Airport button. Verify that the airport ident is the same as was set
at the beginning of the tutorial.
4) At the Active Airport page, select the 3 NM button.
5) This positions the aircraft 3 nautical miles from the relative runway, on the glideslope.
Flight Freeze should be ON.
6) At the upper touchscreen, select the APPR PLOT button on the Map Collar to track the
aircraft movements throughout the landing.
4.4.7.
Landing
1) The pilot will make normal adjustments to instruments to prepare for the landing.
2) Release the freeze by selecting the FLIGHT FREEZE button or push button. See Crash
Avoidance, paragraph 4.4.8.
3) The pilot will make a normal landing.

Crash Avoidance
To avoid a crash, the instructor can select the TOTAL FREEZE, FLIGHT FREEZE, or POSITION
FREEZE buttons on the Freezes/Resets page or on the Freezes/Resets control panel. This enables the
instructor to stop flight so the instructor can reset the approach or departure for another attempt.
