1. Unless you have used the device before and have applied personal settings, we recommend using the frequency
adjustment knob (A2) setting it on “stimulation” mode. We also rec-
ommend using the intensity adjustment knob (A4) and turning it
clockwise (minimum intensity).
2. Switch on the breast pump by using the switch (A1) located on the
left-hand side of the control panel of the main body, setting it to “I”:
the Latty breast pump will start.
3. Gently turn the intensity adjustment knob (A4) anti-clockwise until
the effects of suction on the breast and nipple are noticeable but
not painful.
Normally, we recommend the stimulation stage to last at least 2
minutes: during this time, you can use the frequency adjustment
knob (A2) to change the stimulation rhythm from 120 to 80 suction
cycles per minute.
The setting of the stimulation frequency may vary from woman to
woman, therefore, the user is advised to try various frequency in-
tervals to find the one that is best for their breasts.
4. After the stimulation stage, or when the milk starts being expressed, further turn the frequency adjustment knob (A2)
clockwise to switch to suction mode: the frequency of suction cycles decreases further and the kit’s suction power
increases. At this point, after setting the most comfort-
able frequency or the one that results in the best expres-
sion (visible through the shield that has been applied to
the breast), you can further use the intensity adjustment
knob (A4) so that the applied suction results in proper
expression of milk.
Warning: In the event the intensity level set should cause
discomfort or pain, turn the intensity adjustment knob (A4)
clockwise, thus reducing the force applied to the nipple/
breast.
It is possible to alternate milk expression between the
breasts or, alternatively, milk can be expressed from both
breasts by using the double expression kit, which may be
purchased separately. (Full Twins kit code ACO0021).
5. At the end of expression, switch the breast pump off. Set the switch (A1) to “0”.
6. Immediately after each use, thoroughly clean all the kit’s components, as described in the paragraph “Cleaning and
maintenance”.
To know more
• Pushing the nipple shield too hard might affect the flow of milk.
• Do not express milk with too high and uncomfortable vacuum (painful). The pain, which may be a symptom of
breast and nipple trauma, might decrease the milk flow.
• Do not try to remove the breast shield during expression. Switch the breast pump off and use a finger to detach the
shield from the breast; then remove the breast shield.
• If expression is not comfortable or painful, switch the breast pump off, use a finger to detach the shield from the
breast and, lastly, remove the breast shield.
• Do not shorten the tube between the breast shield and the breast pump.
• Do not use the Latty breast pump sets with an incompatible breast pump.
• Do not use the Latty breast pump with incompatible breast pump sets.
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before touching the breast pump kit(s)
and the breast. Avoid touching the inside of the containers or caps. Wash the breast with
water or with suitable wipes.
After assembling the breast pump as indicated in paragraph “Preparing the breast
pump”, sit in a comfortable and relaxed position. Apply the shield tightly on the breast,
ensuring the nipple is centred in the shield’s inner cavity.
