Intended use and indications
The Latty electrical breast pump is a medical device intended for the expression of breast milk at home or in the hos-
pital; it is recommended for relief from symptoms of breast congestion during breastfeeding, and relief from fissures
or cracked and painful nipples. In case of mastitis, breast pumps contribute to the healing process by extracting the
breast milk from the inflamed breast.
In addition, it allows mothers to offer newborns their own breast milk, also in case this is physically impossible to do
directly for various reasons that include but are not limited to premature birth, cleft palate, or attachment problems.
Target users
Women, young teenagers or adults, during breastfeeding.
Breast milk contains all the nutrients that are necessary to meet the nutritional needs of newborns in the first months
of their lives: using the breast pump allows breast milk to be expressed and stored if there is a surplus of milk or if the
mother needs to be away from the newborn for any reason, for example if she is going back to work.
Contraindications
There are no known contraindications to the use of the Latty breast pump.
Product description
The Latty breast pump is fitted with two regulators that allow the suction frequency and intensity to be changed.
Frequency adjustment allows the suction intervals to be adjusted from stimulation mode to the actual suction mode.
In stimulation mode, the interval between suctions is very brief, the suction force is minimal and a low quantity of milk
is expressed: this stage has the purpose of stimulating milk production by the breast glands and simulates the fast
suction of a newborn at the start of a feed. In suction mode, on the other hand, the sucking frequency decreases, while
the force with which the milk is expressed increases.
