It is essential that the system is subject to regular inspection and servicing so that faults are identified
and preventive measures can be taken to ensure the continued reliability of the system.
Routine testing of the system also provides an opportunity for occupants of the building to become,
and remain, familiar with the system. Periodic inspection and servicing needs to be carried out by a
competent person with knowledge of the system.
All equipment should be examined, as far as practicable, to ensure that it has not been damaged,
altered, or otherwise adversely affected.
