4. Configuring the Management Station
Before you can begin to manage the GSM1010M from a management station using
SNMP, you need to load and compile the MIB file(s) onto the management station.
In order to accomplish this you need to perform two steps:
Copy the MIB file, supplied with the device, to the default directory that contains all
other MIB files (varies between management software packages).
In your management application, add the new MIBs to the already existing list of MIBs
and recompile them.
After MIB installation you should define a new managed object for the GSM1010M
according to the SNMP parameters you have previously set. The way to define this
object varies from one management application to another.
You have now completed all the necessary preparations required for monitoring and
controlling your GSM1010M from any management station on the network.
