Electrical connection
Only entrust an authorised expert to carry out the electrical connection in accordance with the German
EVU and VDE. VDE 0100 Part 702 is valid for all installations. Refer to the type plate for all capacity
parameters. Only perform any work on the unit when isolated!
Start-up
Attention! Never operate the unit without filter basket or without water!
Only use the unit in its horizontal position and ensure stable seating on a firm ground. The unit must be
positioned below the water surface level. Connect the hose and fasten it with a hose clip. The unit
switches on automatically when connected to power.
Installation
Disconnect the power supply, then secure the unit to prevent unintentional switching on. Only use the
unit in its horizontal position and ensure stable installation on a firm ground. The unit must be
positioned below the water surface level and can be placed in (submerged) or outside of the pond
(dry).
Dry installation
Open the filter bowl and remove the already built-in skimmer to replace regulation and these included
with the supplied adapter (pipe with two threaded adapter). After you install the second hose and close
the filter housing. The pump can now be put into operation dry. Make sure all hoses are connected
tightly.
Connection to the water filter
Fasten hose (32/40/50 mm) on the stepped hose connection and, if necessary, fasten with the hose
clip, plug stepped hose connection into the pump outlet, tighten the union nut, then connect the other
end of the hose to the water filter.
Connection to the skimmer
Plug the union nut over the stepped hose connection, fasten the hose to the skimmer filter on the
stepped hose connection, insert he latter into the inlet regulator of the strainer casing, then fasten
union nut.
Attention! If you operate the pump in the strainer casing when submerged, ensure that the
skimmer is always connected to the inlet regulator or that the inlet regulator is completely
closed (“0” position)!
The power supply must be disconnected to switch off the unit.
Maintenance and cleaning
Attention! Always disconnect the power supply prior to starting cleaning and maintenance
work!
Important! FIAP Aqua Active 12 V: Never open the pump yourself! Contact a qualified
electrician if the rotor is blocked by soiling!
Should the capacity drop, clean the filter housing under running water using a soft brush. Pull the
power plug prior to starting cleaning. Disengage the retaining clamps and take the pump out of the
strainer casing. Clean the pump under running water using a soft brush. Remove soiling from the
impeller vanes through the openings. Never open the motor housing. Danger to life! After cleaning, fit
the unit in the reverse order.
Dismantle the pump if the rotor is blocked by soiling: Screw off the pump housing. Pull out the rotor,
clean, check and, if necessary, replace. Reassemble in the reverse order.
