WET CONNECTIONS
General rules
Comply with the local laws governing safety matters in order to correctly design the hydraulic circuit. A gauze filter
(hole Ø
≥≥
500 µm) must be installed on the plate exchanger inlet in order to prevent foreign bodies from entering
for versions of the appliance in which the accumulation kit is not to be used. Failure to do so will void the warranty.
The following information gives suggestions on how to correctly install the unit.
1) Standard supply.
- Standard supply includes a differential pressure switch situated between the water inlet and outlet of the plate
exchanger to avoid freezing if the water flow stops for any reason. Activation is set for a 105 mbar ±5
∆∆
p, while
resetting occurs with a
∆∆
p of 80 mbar ±5.
- The heat pump units are supplied with an antifreeze heating element applied to the evaporator and directly con-
trolled by the monitoring board on the machine. Always remember to empty cold-only units before the winter sea-
son, when the appliance will no longer used.
2) Accumulation kit accessory
- The accumulation kit accessory contains all the hydraulic components required to operate the appliance in the cor-
rect way.
Hydraulic layout of the system
General suggestions
- The pipes must have the least possible bends to minimize load losses and must be adequately supported in order
to prevent the connections of the unit from being excessively stressed.
- Install on-off valves near components that need to be serviced to isolate them when maintenance work needs to
be done and to allow them to be replaced without having to discharge the system.
- Before isolating the pipes and charging the system, carry out preliminary inspections to make sure that there are
no leaks.
- Isolate the chilled water pipes to prevent condensation from forming along the pipes themselves. Make sure that
the material used is the steam barrier type, failing this, cover the insulation with an appropriate protection. Also
make sure that the air venting valves can be accessed through the insulation.
- Do not forget to install or at least provide for the installation of pressure and temperature reading instruments on
the inlet and outlet parts of the hydraulic circuit. These instruments will allow you to monitor the operation of the
system.
Installation without the accumulation kit
- The circuit must be maintained under pressure, using an expansion tank in combination with a safety valve and
pressure reducer. A plant filling unit can also be used, i.e. one that automatically charges and maintains the requi-
red pressure if this latter drops below a certain value. Install manual or automatic valves in the highest part of the
circuit to eliminate the air from it.
- Install a gauze filter (hole Ø
≥≥
500 µm) to prevent foreign bodies from entering the system.
- The units are supplied with female connections as shown in the table. It is advisable to install expansion joints to
limit the extent to which vibrations produced by the unit are transmitted.
- If vibration dampers are installed under the unit, it is also advisable to install flexible couplings before and after the
water circulation pump and near the unit in order to eliminate any vibrations.
If the accumulation kit is installed
- Install a cock on the outlet of the accumulation kit in order to regulate the flow of water towards the system.
Remember that the circulation pump that operates on the user circuit has a three-speed motor, thus the flow
rate/head characteristics can also be adapted by means of the speed of the circulation pump itself.
Use the bottom cock of the accumulation kit to completely empty the hydraulic circuit.
