SETTING AT WORK
FIRST START-UP
Check the electrical and cooling parts as indicated below before starting up for the first time, starting the system for
seasonal work or after a long period at a standstill.
PRELIMINARY INSPECTION OF THE ELECTRICAL PART
NOTE:
Before proceeding with any inspections on the electrical part, disconnect the machine from the electric power
source and place a warning sign on the knife switch prior to the machine to prevent this latter from being accidentally
operated.
This notice must be securely affixed to the machine to prevent it from being easily or accidentally removed.
Inspections:
• Make sure that the electrical system has been made in compliance with the indications on the wiring diagram and
that the cable section is correct.
• Make sure that the power cables are well tightened to the terminals and contactors.
• Make sure that the ground wire is correctly connected.
• Make sure that none of the wires is disconnected or not connected to its terminal.
• Make sure that the mains power supply suits the requirements of the machine.
• Make sure that any optionals (
external indicators or commands
) have been connected to the terminal board.
The unit can now be powered by means of the main switch.
• With the machine off, wait
at least 6 hours
to allow the resistance in the compressor casing to evaporate any fluid
coolant in the oil sump (
versions with heat pump
).
• Make sure that the phase sequence is correct. The led of the sequence meter will come on if it is wrong. For units
with threephase power supply, make sure that the compressor turns in the right direction (
abnormal noise from
the compressor and abnormal temperature and pressure conditions in the cooling circuit denote an incor-
rect rotation direction
). In this case, turn off the unit and invert two of the power phases.
PRELIMINARY INSPECTION OF THE COOLING PART
• make sure that the unit is charged with coolant. This inspection can be carried out with portable pressure gauges
for Freon equipped with a
1/4" SAE
swivel connection and with air pump connected to special
SHRADER
valves
near the coolant connections. The indicated pressure must correspond to the saturation pressure corresponding to
the ambient temperature in question (
~7 bar
).
• Visually inspect the cooling circuit to make sure that it has not been damaged.
• Make sure that the pipes are not dirtied with oil (
oil stains could denote breakages in the cooling circuit)
.
POWERING
Once the preliminary inspections have been made, power the machine by means of the main switch installed on the
supply side of the power line and enter the required type of operation by means of the remote control.
