Avoid positioning close to decorative
objects, doors, lamps, mouldings,
frames, etc., that may prevent the smoke
from penetrating the detector.
Depending on the spot where you want to place the detector, ceiling or wall, it is
recommendable to take into account certain premises:
Ceiling : The ideal solution is to place the smoke detector in the centre, as in the
corners the air is «dead» and does not move. It should also be positioned at a
minimum distance of 30 cm from any decorative items that might obstruct the entry
of smoke.
Wall : When there are beams or other elements on the ceiling that hamper instal-
lation, the detector must be placed on the wall at a distance of no less than 30 cm
from the ceiling, maintaining a minimum distance of 15 cm from the corners.
Sloping Ceiling : In areas with a sloping ceiling, the smoke detector must be
placed 90 cm horizontally from the highest point of the ceiling.
