In bathrooms, showers, garages or other rooms where steam, water and other smoke
accumulate easily and may activate the detector. Nor is installation recommendable in
attics or lofts where extreme temperatures are reached (below 4 degrees or over 40º).
Do not install Smoke detectors:
Close to, or just above, heaters or fans,
air conditioning systems, windows,
ventilation holes, etc. that might alter the
direction of the air currents and, at the
same time, may undergo extreme
temperature changes. On surfaces that are usually warmer or
cooler than the rest of the room, such as
attic skylights or outer partitioning walls
without a chamber. Temperature
differences may prevent the smoke
reaching the detector.
