6. Put the instrument in either continuous
or trigger mode and obtain your gas
sample through the sampling probe.
PolarCept should bubble to indicate
gas flowing through the trap.
After measuring, the water in the PolarCept
filter will become saturated with trapped
interfering gases and should be replaced with
fresh distilled water. Saturation rates will
depend on the amount of interfering gases
present in the sample environment. For most
accurate measurements, it is recommended
that you use KMnO
4
to clean the water prior to
measurement. The DI water itself will often
contain impurities that will create a bias in the
readings of the device.
