Configuration Wizard

Faronics Core User Guide

•

Backup private key for storage or sharing with other servers

— select the check box to create

a backup of the Private Key. Click

Browse

to select the path. This is useful when multiple Core

Servers need to decrypt communication from the same Core Agent.

•

Certificate password

— enter the password for the certificate.

•

Re-enter password

— re-enter the password for the certificate.

•

Backup file

— Click

Browse

to select the path for backing up the Public Key. This is useful

when multiple Core Consoles connect to the same Core Server.

4. Core Console searches your computer for existing database servers. The following dialog is

displayed. No action is required during this step.

5. The following screen is displayed when existing database servers are found. If SQL Server (or

SQL Server Express) is installed locally, the particular server instance is selected as default.
Select the database server that you wish to use from the drop-down list. Alternatively, you can
enter the name of the database server manually.

The certificates are stored in the Windows Certificate Store and can be exported.

The exported certificate can be imported in step 2. This is useful when multiple
Core Servers connect to one Core Console using the same Public Key.
