the display. If the temperature is measured
simultaneously with moisture measurement the
temperature value is shown in the left upper corner
of the display.
6. CARE AND MAINTENANCE
6.1. Handling
Always handle the meter with care and keep it in
the carrying case at all times when not in use.
When inserting a probe into a bale, do not bend
the probe. The warranty will not cover damage due
to bending. Store in dry, dust-free environment.
Remove the battery if the meter is not to be used
for an extensive period of time. Insert a new
battery prior to each new season.
6.2. Replacing the battery
The Wile-26 uses a standard 9 volt battery. The
display area incorporates a built-in low battery
indicator. If the “LO BATT” sign will appear in the
display replace the battery immediately. Remove
the two screws on the bottom plate and change
the battery. Return the plate and fix the screw as
before.
6.3. Calibration and Service
All Wile-26 moisture meters are calibrated prior to
shipping and will generally never need
recalibration. If, however, the meter should for
some reason go to out of calibration, or require
other servicing, return the meter in its case and
original box to the dealer where you have
purchased it from.
6.4 Checking the calibration
Select scale-0-, when you have the 45cm probe
affixed. Keep the probe in free air and read the
result. The reading should be 2000 +/-5, note that
readings over 1999 will be displayed without first
digit, i.e., 2003 displays as 003. Respectively the
90cm probe gives the reading 1800 +/-15.
6.5. The Identification Code of the Scales
Press MENU and choose UPDATE. The ID code
of the scale is displayed, for example ID 332. This
information is needed for service purpose.
