10.4 Loop opener replacement. (art. 0231)
Proceed as follows:
- Turn the machine off using the MAIN SWITCH, and disconnect the machine cable from the
electricity supply.
- Loosen the nut n. 90806.5 located on the side of part n. 0211 ( loop opener lever) and remove
the part 0231 to be replaced.
- Insert the new loop opener.
- Turn the machine by hand, place the needle support bar n.5415.20 in its lowest position.
- At this point, check that the tip of the loop opener is positioned at about 1 mm from the needle
shank..
- Tighten nut n. 90806.5.

To center the loop opener horizontally, check that the tip of the loop opener is exactly in the center of the
needle shank.
If this is not the case, using the tweezers, shift it to the left or right as necessary.
When using the tweezers, make sure you grip the rear part of the loop opener, and not the point, as this
can scratch the surface , which will lead to thread breakage.
Turn the machine by hand, checking that when the loop opener moves, it does not touch against the
needle, and that it takes up only one of the two threads presented by the needle.
If after this adjustment, the loop opener still hits against the needle, during its run, then the cam which
controls the loop opener run, must be regulated, bringing it forward (anti-clockwise direction) or backward
(clockwise).
