To avoid serious injury when using the ladder, observe the
following rules:
- Only one person can use the loft ladder at a time.
- For safety reasons, when folding and unfolding the ladder always use both hands.
- When ascending or descending the ladder always face the ladder.
- Remember not to climb the ladder in slippers, flip-flops or shoes that can easily slip
from the feet.
- Do not allow children to play near the unfolded loft ladder.
- When descending the ladder, do not jump off.
- When ascending or descending the ladder do not jump up the ladder or shake it.
The total load of the ladder must not exceed 160kg (person plus objects carried). Any extra
load may cause damage to the ladder and, consequently, lead to a serious injury.
While ascending or descending the ladder, the user should always face the ladder and hold
tightly onto the treads or handrail at least with one hand.
While ascending or descending the ladder, do not hold onto the brackets, springs or other
hardware elements of the ladder.
Do not unfold the ladder by holding the
stringer with one hand at the point of the
hinged connection between segments.
Do not step on the folded and closed loft
ladder.
In order to increase safety, the opening in
the ceiling should be protected with the
barrier LXB-U (Product available from the
range of accessories for loft ladders).
Children and the elderly should not use the loft ladder.
