Safety rules when using the ladder
Before using the ladder, check if the length of the ladder is properly matched to the height of the room. The segments of the ladder after unfolding should form a straight line but can not
come apart at the hinged connections. The stringer beams or ladder feet must touch the floor flat.
Between the side sections of the ladder box and opening in the ceiling, there should be placed wooden spacers as shown in
the picture above. Do not forget to fit a separator in the place of the lock tongue catch. No separator can lead to deformation
of the front element of the box and self-acting opening of the hatch.
Please ensure adequate ventilation in the attic by installing a roof window, access roof light or air inlet.
Loft ladders should be mounted in horizontal ceilings. If
the ceiling is not level, then the loft ladder will not function
properly. Additionally, the load will not be properly
distributed and carried by the ladder. Thus, the use of so-
fitted loft ladders is dangerous and may result in a fall.
If the distance between the upper surface of the last tread of the ladder and the
attic floor surface exceeds 31.5cm, there should be fitted an additional step in the
ceiling as shown in the picture above. It is also possible to purchase the additional
step LXT and install it accordingly.
Do not attach any protective strips to the ladder because, when peeled off, the tape
may leave a difficult to remove layer of adhesive on the surfaces of the ladder, which
may hinder the use or, ultimately, lead to an accident.
