operation of the voice amplifier
This chapter informs you about putting the Voicetec
®
voice amplifier into operation safely for the
first time.
3.1 general prerequisites
The Voicetec
®
voice amplifier is ready for operation after removing from the packaging and ob-
serving the following provisions.
•
Carry out a visual inspection for external damage. The device must be free of damage.
•
If there is any damage, do not put the Voicetec
®
voice amplifier into operation.
3.2 First use
Check whether all parts are included in the scope of delivery in accordance with the device over-
view (see chapter 2.2 / 2.3 of the Operating Instructions).
Please check that the transmitter unit

and the receiver unit

are working on the same
radio channel. Set the channel switch (

or

) to the same value (a or B or c) for this
purpose. transmission is only possible with the same radio channel. if the connection on
one channel is faulty, change both devices to another value. if the transmitter and receiver
units are not set to the same radio channel, the control lamp

on the transmitter unit
flashes green.
3.3 Preparing the transmitter unit for operation

Inserting and changing batteries
You can optionally use two batteries (1.5 V type AA) or two rechargeable batteries (1.2 V Ni-MH
type AA) (included in the scope of delivery) for operation. The rechargeable batteries can be
charged in the battery compartment

of the receiver unit (see description in chap. 3.4) or with
any commercially available charger. Press on the release button of the battery compartment

and fold open the cover. Insert the batteries

. Ensure that the polarity is correct when inserting.
You can identify the polarity from the sticker inside the battery compartment. Close the battery
compartment. The cover locks in place audibly.

Connect the microphone
Connect one of the three microphones

supplied. Connect the socket plug of the micro-
phone with the microphone input socket

Switch on the transmitter unit
Switch on the transmitter unit with the On /Off switch

Setting the microphone
Depending on which microphone you use, configure it such that it is as close as possible to the
tracheostoma. You can set the volume of the transmitter unit with the volume control

to the left reduces the volume, to the right increases the volume.
3.4 Preparing the receiver unit for operation
•
Inserting and changing rechargeable batteries
Only rechargeable batteries (1.2 V Ni-MH type AA) may be used for operation.
