To assemble the machine:
WARNING:
All the necessary adjustments for the good working
of your machine have been done at the factory. Do
not modify them. However, because of a normal
wear and tear of your tool, some re-adjustments
might be necessary.
WARNING:
Always unplug your machine from power source be
-
fore any adjustment.
Rubber feet (Fig. 2):
Secure the four rubber feet (15) to the bottom
side of the equipment using the Allen screws (A)
and washers (B) supplied. In order to assemble
the metal feet (included only in PTS 252 PLUS)
use the metal pieces provided (Fig. 24), assem-
ble together as shown in Fig. 25, tightening the
screws as shown in Fig. 26 and then use the Al-
len screws to fix the metal feet assembly on the
bottom side of the machine as shown in Fig. 27.
Finally place the rubber feet (Fig. 24.4) on each
foot.
Planing blade cover (Fig. 3-5):
1.
Remove the Phillips screw (19) and the fasten-
ing nut (10) on the planer blade cover and the
fastening nut (6) on the swivel arm (9a).
2. Push the planing blade cover (9) and the swivel
arm (9a) together.
3.
Retighten fastening nut (10) and Phillips screw
(19).
4.
Fasten the assembly to the holes (4 and 6)
shown in Fig. 4 and 5 using the fastening nut (6)
and the star grip screw (4).
Parallel stop (Fig. 7):
Attach the parallel stop (8) to the machine hous
-
ing and fasten it using the Allen screws (C).
Crank handle for thickness planer chip depth (Fig. 8):
The crank handle (12) should be plugged on the
max spindle.
Chip extraction (Fig. 10):
To mount the extension of the chip extraction
(5a), open the “Phillips” screw on the extension.
Fit both parts (5, 5a) together and retighten the
“Phillips” screw.
Chip extractor to surface planing (Fig. 8-13):
1.
Set the planing knife cover (9) in the highest
position.
2.
Use the crank handle (12) to place the thick-
nessing table (21) in the lowest position.
3.
Take the chip extractor and hold the switching
pins (3). Place the chip extractor at a slightly
slanting angle on the machine and push it back-
wards. For this you need to hold the switching
pins (3) outwards.
4.
Lock the chip extractor (5) with the switching
pins in the table.
NOTE:
The machine won´t start if the switching pins
are incorrectly plugged in.
5.
Fold the planing knife cover (9) down again.
Chip extractor to thickness planing (Fig. 14):
The parallel stop needs to be removed for thick-
ness planning. Follow parallel stop attaching
point in reverse order. Hold the switching pins
(3) outside and set the chip extractor (5) on top
of the machine. Lock the chip extractor (5) with
the switching pins in the table.
NOTE:
The machine won´t start if the switching pins (3)
are incorrectly plugged in.
NOTE:
The installed electric motor is completely wired
ready for operation. The customer‘s connection to
the power supply system, and any extension cables
that may be used, must conform with local regula
-
tions. Check electrical connection cables regularly
for damage. Make sure the cable is disconnected
from the mains when checking. Electrical connection
cables must comply with the regulations applicable
in your country.
Single-phase motor:
f
The mains voltage must coincide with the voltage
specified on the motor’s rating plate.
f
Dimension cables up to a length of 25m must have
a cross-section of 1.5mm
2
and beyond 25m at least
2.5mm

.
f
The connection to the mains must be protected
with an appropriate slow acting fuse.
The product is intended solely for use at connec
-
tion points that:
1. Do not exceed a maximum permitted supply
Zmax=0.382Ω.
2.
Have a continuous current carrying capacity of
the mains of at least 100A per phase.
NOTE:
The motor is automatically switched off in the event
of an overload. The motor can be switched on again
after a cooling down period that can vary.
WARNING:
Connect the machine only to a socket with the prop-
erly installed ground contact.
