Insert the stair bottom posts in bottom corner pockets with the holes on top and oriented as
shown in FIG. 8. Do not tighten set screws yet.

If the optional
CONNECTOR – HR PLATFORM TO HR STAIR (MHRPSC)
kit is used, the closure
elbows assemblies used in this kit must be installed in the stair top posts before proceeding with the
rest of the stair handrail installation. Complete step 4.1 and 4.2 in the
CONNECTOR – HR PLATFORM TO HR
STAIR (MHRPSC)
section before proceeding to the following steps.

Locate the eight closure elbows and disassemble by removing the screw and nut, then remove
the center insert (FIG. 9).
