Opening the CrossPoint Plus 168 and 1616
To open the CrossPoint Plus 168 or 1616 switcher, do the following:
1. Disconnect the power cord from the switcher.
2. Remove the ten screws that secure the switcher’s front cover as shown in
figure 46. Three internal cables connected to the front panel can be damaged
if strained. Carefully tilt the front panel away from the main body of the
switcher.

3 . Press the two receptacle tabs on the top cable outward as shown at the left,
and pull back gently on the cable connector to remove it
from the receptacle. Lay the front panel down in front
of the switcher.
Closing the switcher
1 . Reinstall any cables removed. To plug a self latching cable into the desired
receptacle, align the holes in the connector with the pins in
the receptacle, and press evenly until the receptacle tabs
lock into place.
2 . Place the top cover (CrossPoint Plus 84, 88, 124, and 128) and/or front cover
(all models) in place and replace all the screws removed in “Opening the
switcher” on page B-2.
