III. Preparing for use
•
WARNING
y
Prior to putting the device into operation, Carefully read
the entire user‘s manual before first use and keep it
with the product so that the user can become acquain-
ted with it. If you lend or sell the product to somebody,
include this user‘s manual with it. Prevent this user‘s
manual from being damaged. The manufacturer takes
no responsibility for damages or injuries arising from
use that is in contradiction to this user‘s manual. Before
using this equipment, first acquaint yourself with all
the control elements and parts as well as how to turn
it off immediately in the event of a dangerous situation
arising. Before using it, first check that all parts are
firmly attached, that the thread connections of the
water hoses are tight (not leaking) and check that no
part of the equipment, such as for example safety pro-
tective elements, is damaged or incorrectly installed,
or missing. Likewise, check that the power cables under
current (live) exiting from the control unit do not have
damaged insulation or power plug and that the plastic
cover of the control unit is not damaged.
Do not use the equipment with damaged or missing
parts and have it repaired or replaced at an authori-
sed service centre for the Extol® brand - see chapter
Servicing and maintenance, or the website address at
the introduction to this user‘s manual.
PREPARING THE WATER TANK
•
ATTENTION
y
Prior to connecting the pump set, it is necessary to
pressurise with air the area lined with the membrane
according the to the procedure described below.
1)
Screw off the air valve cover located on the rear part
of the water tank as shown in fig. 1 and using a tyre
pump or car compressor, pressurise the water tank to
a pressure of 1.2-1.5 bar - not more (there is a mem-
brane inside the water tank). Check the pressure
using a tyre pressure meter (manometer) connected
to the air fill valve of the water tank.

1.2-1.5 bar
•
ATTENTION
y
When pressurising the water tank with air, the air out-
let from the water tank must not be limited (closed).
2)
After pressurising, screw the plastic cover back on to
the air fill valve. The cover protects the air fill valve
against damage and clogging.
CONNECTING THE PRESSURE CONTROL
UNIT TO THE WATER PUMP
•
WARNING
y
The connection of the control unit (pressure sen-
sor) with the water pump and connection of the
power cable of the control unit may only be per-
formed by an electrician with the necessary
electrical qualifications. The electrical installati-
on and maintenance may only be per-
formed with the el. power supply
(current) disconnected. The manu-
facturer takes no responsibility for
any damages caused by non-professional connec-
tion of the control unit.
•
WARNING
y
Prior to plugging the power cord of the
control unit into an el. power socket, check
that the voltage in the socket corresponds
to the permitted supply voltage of the water pump and
the control unit. Deep well pump models 8895061,
8895062 and 8895063 are intended to only be powered
using a voltage of 220-240 V~50 Hz, however, the pre-
ssure control unit is designed to be powered using

The cut-in and cut-out pressure may vary slightly relative to the specified pressure depending on the factory setting.
2)
NOTIFICATION ABOUT A CHANGE TO THE MAXIMUM WATER DELIVERY HEIGHT
OF THE DEEP WELL PUMPS
y
Since the cut-out pressure must be 3.5 bar, it is not possible to achieve the maximum (transport) delivery height
for pump models
8895061; 8895062; 8895063
.
The specified max. delivery height is achieved when the
pump is used separately without the water tank and control unit. The delivery head (height) of all
three models connected to the system with the control unit and water tank is approx 35 m.
The maximum delivery head (height) is not dependent on the max. submersion depth of the pump.
The delivery height is calculated from the water level without inclusion of the submersion depth of
the pump.
y
The flow rate / delivery height likewise depends on the length of the delivery hose, where each 10 metres of the
delivery hose in horizontal position is equivalent to approx. 1 metre of delivery height. The flow rate is reduced by
hose connection fittings or hose ends (adapters) because they have a smaller internal diameter than the hose. The
flow rate also depends on the internal diameter of the hose.
