MOUNTING AND INSTALLATION LOCATION
OF THE FLOODLIGHT
y
In the case when the floodlight is mounted to a base
using screws, mount it 1-3 m above the ground. The
direct distance from the illuminated object should be
at least 0.5 m (Fig.4). When the floodlight is mounted
in a corner then it must be at least 20 cm away from
the ceiling (Fig.5). The same applies when using the
floodlight as a portable light source.

ATTENTION
y
Protect the power adapter cable against thermal and
mechanical damage. In the event that it is damaged,
unplug the adapter from the el. power source and
have it repaired at an authorised service centre for
the Extol® brand.
y
The floodlight has a non-replaceable light source,
which when not mechanically damaged has a lifespan
of up to 30,000 hours and thus under normal circum-
stances it is not necessary to remove the floodlight‘s
front cover.
IV. Safety instructions
for the charger and 230
V power adapter
Protect the charger from rain and
moisture. The charger may only be
used in enclosed areas.
y
The charger is intended solely for charging the battery
of the floodlight and not for any other batteries. When
charging a battery other than for which the charger is
designed, fire or explosion could occur.
y
Keep the charger/adapter clean.
y
Before each use of the charger, make sure it is in
working order, including the output power cord. If you
find a defect, have it repaired at an authorised service
centre for the Extol® brand (service locations are listed
in the user‘s manual).
y
Do not use the charger/adapter resting on easily com-
bustible items and materials (e.g. on paper) or in an
environment where there is a risk of explosion or fire.
y
When charging, always provide for sufficient ventila-
tion because fumes or electrolyte could escape from
the battery if it was damaged as a result of incorrect
handling.
y
When charging has finished, unplug the charger from
the el. power source; do not leave it connected longer
than necessary.
y
The EN 60335-2-29 norm for battery chargers requires
that the user‘s manual contains the following statement:
„This appliance (charger/adapter) can be used by children
aged 8 years and older if they are properly supervised or in
cases where they have been instructed to use the appliance
in a safe manner and understand the potential dangers.
The user may not allow children to perform cleaning and
maintenance if they are not older than 8 years and under
supervision. Keep the appliance and its power cord out of
the reach of children younger than 8 years.
The appliance may be used by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or with a lack of
experience and knowledge, if they are supervised or have
been instructed to use the appliance in a safe manner and
understand the potential dangers.
Children should not be allowed to play with the appliance.“

ATTENTION
y
Carefully read the entire user‘s manual before first use and
keep it with the product so that the user can learn about
it. If you lend or sell the product to somebody, include this
user‘s manual with it. Prevent this user‘s manual from being
damaged. The manufacturer takes no responsibility for
damages or injuries arising from use of the device that is in
contradiction to this user‘s manual. Acquaint yourself with
all the control elements and parts of the floodlight before
using it. Check that all parts are firmly attached before use,
also check that no part of the floodlight is damaged, namely
the protective front cover and the insulation on the power
adapter cord. A degraded power adapter cord is also con-
sidered to constitute damage. Do not use a floodlight with
damaged parts and have it repaired at an authorised service
centre for the Extol® brand.
The floodlight is designed to be connected to the
power socket specified in the technical specifications.
Prior to connecting the floodlight to this voltage,
check that the voltage in the socket corresponds to
the specified values.
The floodlight can be used even when connected to
a power source via the power adapter.
The floodlight is equipped with a switch on the
underside of the battery that can be used to turn it
on or off without the need to connect or disconnect
the power adapter cord.
To charge the battery, move the switch to the „OFF“
position.
The battery charging process is signalled via a red
indicator light on the battery, which is lit green when
the battery is fully charged.

WARNING
y
The floodlight itself is resistant against rain and
it is dust proof with a protection level against
the harmful entry of water and touching desig-
nated as IP65, this does not however apply to
the standard unprotected 120-240 V~ power
socket and the floodlight‘s power adapter
designed to be connected to this voltage. If you
want to use the floodlight with the 100-240
V power adapter connection, then the adapter
and power socket must have the same level of
protection against the harmful entry of water
as IPX5! Connect the floodlight to a power socket
protected by a residual current device (RCD) with
a breaking current of 30 mA!
y
Always use the floodlight with an unda-
maged protective front cover that prevents
damage to the LED diode and its exposure to
humidity/water and dust.
y
Do not use the floodlight in an environment
where there is a risk of explosion or fire.
