VI. Maintenance
and Repair
•
WARNING
y
Perform maintenance or other servicing tasks with the
el. power supply disconnected.
y
In the event that access to the jaws (part 3, fig.8) or
another part is required, screw off the barrel using the
supplied key. In order to be able to screw out the barrel,
the tab on the key must be inserted into the hole on the
barrel as a stopper (fig. 7). Prior to replacing the part,
press and release the trigger. Ensure that the parts in
the barrel of the rivet gun are sufficiently lubricated,
especially after their replacement. Industrial Vaseline
must be used for lubrication.

c) Insert the rivet mandrel into the hole in the
rivet bolt in the rivet gun and press and imme-
diately release without holding down the
trigger of the gun, see step 3, fig. 5. The trigger
of the gun must not be held down.
•
WARNING
y
If the rivet is not seated in the hole, when the trigger is
released, the pulled rivet will be shot into space and the
torn off rivet mandrel will fall off.
y
In the event that there is an unusual noise, vibrations
or operation during the operation of the power tool,
immediately turn off the power tool, disconnect it from
the el. power supply and identify and rectify the cause
of this unusual operation. If the unusual operation is
caused by a fault inside the power tool, have it repaired
at an authorised service centre for the Extol® brand
through the merchant or directly at an authorised servi-
ce centre (service locations are listed at the website
address at the start of this manual).
