Both parts of the filter assembly are suitable for gentle washing in warm (not hot)
water. Do not use detergent. Allow both the pleated filter, and external pre-filter
to dry naturally for 24 hours before refitting to the Chilli. Ensure all parts have fully
dried before reassembly.
Only use the Chilli with both parts of the filter assembly in place.
Use the additional filter pack supplied to continue using your Ewbank
Chilli 3 Cyclonic™ while filter cleaning and maintenance is carried out.
Trouble shooting
If an accessory does not remove easily when pulled (in a straight line) from the Chilli unit, then
squeeze the inlet of the accessory and pull away from the body of the unit, this will release the
accessory (Fig. 17).
This unit is a Class II appliance which means it is double-insulated for your protection, no earthing
wire is necessary. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Ewbank Products Ltd. or
its appointed agents.
Your unit has been supplied with a power cord with a fitted fused plug. Please read the following
safety instructions before use.
1. if the fitted plug is cut off from the power cord then the plug must be disposed of safely. NEVER
in any circumstances insert such a plug into a mains socket-outlet.
2. A replacement fuse must be rated at 5 Amp. These must be manufactured and approved to
BS 1362.
3. IF IN ANY DOUBT CONTACT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN
If you need to fit a plug to the power cord, this should be fitted in accordance with the wiring
instructions below and will need to be used with a 5 Amp fuse. If in doubt consult a qualified
electrician.
If you are using an extension lead it must be rated at a minimum of 10 Amps and fully unwound.
Do not operate with a lead rated less than 10 Amps as this will cause premature failure of the
motor which is not covered by the guarantee.
As the colours of the wires in the power cord of the application may
not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals
in your plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.
