- 109 -
In the lower section there is an option
for “Full
-
Range” speakers. You must
set the front speakers to Full-Range
before the Full-Range option becomes
available for Surround speakers. If you
are unsure if your speakers are full-range
or not, please see the previous section
on Page 106.
As in the previous section, enabling Full-
Range will show the speaker icon larger
than when disabled. In the images to
the right, you’ll see the three options for
full-range speakers illustrated.
The top image shows a 5.1 system with
no full-range speakers enabled. The
middle image shows only the front
channel in full-range mode and the
satellites and subwoofer in standard
mode. Lastly, the bottom image shows
the entire surround system in full-range
mode. The checkboxes enable them,
and the visual differences in the speaker
reference will show at a quick glance
which are actively in full-range mode.
The last section is “Bass Management.” Clicking on “Bass Redirection” enables the
Crossover Frequency slider to balance what goes to the subwoofer and satellites. This
setting generally will not provide much benefit to headphones, because the bass
redirection occurs inside the headphone through its own crossover filters.
