1.
Secure the child in the child carrier.
• Harness straps
MUST
start as close as possible, but
NEVER
above, the child’s shoulders (page 13).
• The harness
MUST
be on the child’s shoulders and
snug with no more than two finger-widths of
space between the child and the harness strap.
• Chest clip is securely fastened and at armpit level.
• Buckle tongues are fully engaged.
• Crotch strap fits easily between baby’s legs.
• Back and bottom of baby should rest flat against
the seat shell.

If you have the convenience base, secure
it to the vehicle seat (page 15).

If you have the convenience base, place
the child carrier, with child secured in it,
into the base (page 16).
4.
If you don’t have the convenience base,
secure the child restraint to the vehicle
seat (page 21).
• Install locking clip, if necessary (page 23).
• Towel rolled up and placed beneath the base, if
necessary (page 22).
5.
Check your work.
• The child restraint
MUST NOT
move more than
1 in. (25 mm) forward or side-to-side.
• Make sure the child’s back and bottom are flat
against the back and bottom surfaces of the child
restraint.
• Harness straps are as close as, but not above
shoulder level.
• Buckle tongues are fully engaged.
• Make sure the level arrow is level with ground.
Child’s head
MUST
be at least 1 inch (25mm) below
the top of the carrier.
