Fish sounding and identification mode operated quite sufficiently only with the immovable
sensor, sensitive surface of which is located strictly in parallel to the water surface. When
using the sonar while moving it can provide more quantity of false response or miss real
fish.
Fish identification mechanism set in the Praktik sonar is based on the changing of
movement nature of the object caught in the beam. If nature of movement of this object
satisfies identification criteria (downloaded in the chip memory) than the fish contour will
appear of the screen.
If you are sure that the
fish is caught in the beam
cone but there is not any fish
contour on the screen, (in
Fish ID mode) there may be
different reasons for it: if in
RTS window the objects are
being observed but there not
any fish contours than it is
possible they are not any
fish. If there are not any
objects in RTS window,
sensitivity must be
increased prior to their
appearance. If it does not help, then the fish is likely near the very bottom and the sonar cannot
see it on account of the bottom nature and the near bottom structures, or the fish is in the “dead
