capacity of the vehicle battery in percent and the green LED on the top of the device lights up. If the display
shows FL (FULL) there is voltage, the charge voltage of the alternator, that is higher than the battery
voltage. The charge voltage depends on the vehicle type and the type of alternator.
Operation of mode with automatic switch off
If the digital battery tester is installed in your vehicle in accordance with the paragraph above, you can use it
as a battery protector. Connect the 12 V connector of the consumer (fan, working light, radio receiver, etc.)
to the 12V socket on the front of the digital battery tester.
Caution: Only consumers with a maximum power consumption of 8 Amperes may be connected.
Then you can use the consumer as usual. The current charge state (capacity) can be read off the display at
any time.
The connected consumer (e.g. the working light) discharges the battery in your vehicle. If the capacity of the
vehicle battery drops to 5 %, the digital battery tester deactivates the 12 V outlet and thus switches the
connected consumer off. In addition, the green LED on the top of the device and the red LED - switch off
indicator - will light up.
The battery of your vehicle is thus protected from the risk of deep discharging.
Even when the switch off is activated, the residual capacity of your battery is shown in the display.
Maintenance
The digital battery tester does not need maintenance when it is used correctly.
Use a dry cloth to clean.
After connecting a consumer with too much power or a defective consumer (short-circuit):
In the event that the digital battery tester does not output information to the display and the LEDs on the top
of the device do not light up, remove the device from the 12 V on-board power system of your vehicle and
check the installed 10 Ampere fuse of the digital battery tester. Proceed as follows:
•
Turn the knurled screw at the top of the 12 V plug anti-clockwise until it comes away from the plug and
then remove.
•
The 10 Ampere fuse is exposed and can be pulled out of the plug
•
Check the fuse and replace, if necessary, with another fuse of the same strength. Never bridge the fuse.
•
Screw the knurled screw back onto the plug.
Disposal
The digital battery tester is an electrical device. A defective electrical device must be disposed of at the local
collection point for electronic and electrical waste and should not be introduced into the household waste.
