MAINTENANCE
A qualified service agency should conduct an annual inspection and maintenance of your
J Series Outdoor
Gas Fireplace
to keep it running safely. The following procedures should be performed only by a qualified
service person. The gas supply should be turned off whenever a maintenance procedure is performed. All
parts of the fireplace that are removed for servicing must be replaced prior to operation.
Cleaning the Media and Burner.
1. With all parts of the fireplace at room temperature, carefully remove and clean the fire media with a soft
bristled brush.
2. Clean the pilot shield with a vacuum cleaner.
Cleaning the Stainless Steel.
1. With all parts of the fireplace at room temperature, use a high-quality stainless steel cleaner to clean. Be
sure to softly clean WITH the grain.
Cleaning the Cabinet.
1. Ensure that the space beneath the glass panels is kept free of dirt and debris. Clean this area with a
vacuum cleaner while being careful to not disturb any of the wiring or tubing.
2. Ensure that the cabinet drain is free of blockage and debris.
Installation and repair should be done by a qualified service person. The appliance should be inspected before
use and at least annually by a qualified service person. More frequent cleaning may be required as necessary.
It is imperative that the control compartments, burners, and circulating-air passageways of the appliance are
kept clean.
