JVF-M2 Series Outdoor Gas Fireplace
IGM2S-190417
INSTALLATION
ENCLOSING THE FIREPLACE/FRAMING
All enclosures for the J-M2 fireplace
require
an air
inlet
and an air
outlet
. These openings in the enclosure
must allow for the free flow of air through the unit.
The air
inlet
opening must be located on the same side of the fireplace as the gas control and should be
located near the bottom of the fireplace. This is the left side when facing the single sided model and either
side on the see-through. The air
outlet
can be on any vertical surface above the unit.
The air inlet opening and the air outlet opening must be covered with a grill that has a free area of at least 36 in2
(233 cm2). The grill opening should be small enough to prevent bugs, mice and other pests from accessing the
enclosure.
When choosing a grill, give consideration to its rain and/or weather resistance to ensure that as
little weather gets inside the enclosure as possible. A small hood at the top of the grill is recommended for
improved weather resistance. Make sure these hoods and grills do not effect the air intake.
IMPORTANT
From the air inlet to the controls side of the unit, there must be a chase baffle must be built to prevent air from
passing around the back or top of the unit: Figure 13 below.
