DMX operation
Wireless DMX
For wireless data transmission you need a DMX-controller, a wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver or
devices with built-in wireless receiver. Please use the appropriate devices from the FUTURELIGHT range.
Please note:
WDMX has priority over DMX!
The wireless receiver has an internal memory function. If the device is switched off and on again, the
receiver automatically logs onto the wireless transmitter.
Wireless receiver transmitter status dot:
WDMX status dot blinks:
The wireless receiver is logged into the wireless transmitter. The DMX signal is
present and received.
WDMX status dot does not blink:
The wireless receiver is not logged into a wireless transmitter (free) or
the connection is present but no DMX signal is received.
Log out a wireless receiver:
To log out a wireless receiver, press and hold the ENTER button for 5 seconds.
The procedure for installing a wireless DMX system depends on the wireless transmitter being used. Please
refer to the instructions in the user manual of the corresponding device.
Setting the DMX channel mode and the DMX starting address
For operation with a controller with DMX512 protocol, the device is equipped with 8 control channels.
However, it can also be switched to a mode with 4 or 5 channels if different functions are required. To be
able to operate the device with a DMX controller, the DMX starting address must be set. The starting
address depends upon which DMX controller is being used. Please refer to the controller’s documentation.

If DMX control signals are being received, a dot will blink on the display. The dot will not blink when
no DMX signals are being received.
This situation can occur if:
- the XLR plug (cable with DMX signal from controller) is not connected with the input of the device.
- the wireless receiver is not logged in to the wireless transmitter or no wireless DMX signal is received.
- the controller is switched off or defective
- the cable or connector is defective or the signal wires are swap in the input connector.
Note: Please make sure that you do not have any overlapping channels in order to control each device
correctly and independently from any other fixture on the DMX chain. If several devices are addressed
similarly, they will work synchronically.
