TDA Thermodual Installation Manual
13. Overview of Important Points
The warranty is dependent on correct installation by an a Euroheat approved installation
partner.
The system must be commissioned prior to operation by a Euroheat service engineer.
The Thermodual TDA is suitable for the combustion of wood pellets in a natural state
and split logs (w<30 %); materials not suitable for combustion are: wood dust, wood
chips, solid- liquid- or gaseous fossil fuels, etc. In addition no PVC-containing waste
products, cardboard containers, paper, coated wood, etc. must be burnt; the wood
must be free from foreign bodies (nails, screws, ...).
The optimum boiler temperature is between 70°C and 75°C.
The minimum boiler return flow temperature at the boiler inlet must not fall below
55°C in operation, otherwise wood firing can lead to the formation of condensation
in the boiler (causing soot and tar formation). The correct fitting of a functional return
loading valve is a pre-condition for the manufacturer’s warranty. The boiler must be
operated with a buffer/accumulator tank.
Ensure there is always an adequate supply of fresh air in the central heating room.
When working on electrical/electronic equipment such as the motor, auger, suction
fan or on the control unit the on-site main switch (heating emergency switch) must
be switched off.
The pellet (quality) used must comply with the quality certificate “EN plus” based on
the European Standard EN 14961-2 for wood pellets or ÖNORM 7135 and DIN 51731.
The pellet storage space must conform to ÖNORM M 7137.
A warning sign must be placed on the door of the pellet storage space. Before entering
the storage space ensure it has been ventilated for at least 15 minutes.
The thermal safety device must be connected to a pressurised water main in a manner
that prevents it from being shut off. Primary pressure must be at 2 bar (1800 litres/h).
The drain line must open out freely. The drain line should feature a visible tundish so
that any leaks in the future can be seen.
The thermal safety device must be checked by a specialist at least once per year. To
check, press the red cap against the valve; water must run into the tundish. If drainage
is low, it means there is a malfunction. The appliance must be repaired immediately
by a specialist; use a descaling agent if required.
