c) Displaying the wind speed
• Briefly press the set button (2) to switch between temperature/wind speed mode and
atmospheric pressure/altitude mode. The current temperature will be displayed together
with the wind speed, provided that a flow of wind was detected.
• The wind speed is measured every 1.5 seconds. The average wind speed is calculated
based on the last ten measurements.
• The measurable range for the wind speed is 0.3 m/s to 30 m/s. If the wind speed is between
0 m/s and 0.3 m/s, "0.0" will be displayed. The bar graph display will also indicate a wind
speed of zero. If the wind speed is more than 30 m/s, "--.-" will be displayed.
• The current wind speed is displayed in temperature/wind speed mode. Briefly press the
+ button (6) to display the previously measured maximum or average wind speed on
the LCD display (3). "max" and "avg" will be displayed together with the corresponding
numerical values and bar graph. Press the button again to go back to the home screen.
The temperature will continue to be displayed during this operation.
d) Measuring and displaying the atmospheric pressure and altitude
• In atmospheric pressure/altitude mode, briefly press the + button (6) to display the maximum,
absolute and relative altitude on the LCD display (3).
• "max", "abs" or "rel" will be shown together with the corresponding numerical values. The
atmospheric pressure will continue to be displayed.
• The absolute altitude is calculated by measuring the atmospheric pressure at a particular
altitude.
• The relative altitude is calculated by measuring the atmospheric pressure at two different
altitudes within a short interval, ideally when the weather-dependent atmospheric pressure
is constant.
• When you are at the starting point, press the + button. "rel" will be displayed.
• Press and hold the + button for approximately 2 seconds to set the relative altitude to
"0.0". Change the altitude of your location as soon as possible, e.g. by climbing upwards or
downwards or taking a lift. The difference in height will be calculated using the difference in
pressure between the two locations. The relative altitude will then be displayed on the LCD.
• To view the measured height difference, switch to the relative altitude mode ("rel" will be
shown on the display).
