• Clean the guide bar groove by using a brush or the compressed air.
• Replace the guide bar as soon as the groove is worn.
Sharpening and caring for the saw chain
• A properly maintained and sharpened saw chain reduces the amount of bodily effort and
level of wear and produces a better result.
• Clean, maintain and sharpen the saw chain regularly.
• Check the saw chain regularly for cracks and damaged rivets.
• You will find detailed information on sharpening in a sharpening set, e.g. from Oregon.
• Alternatively, you can use an electrical saw chain sharpener and follow the instruction to
sharpen the saw chain.
• If you have any doubts about carrying out the work, the saw chain should be replaced.
• Better have the sharpening of the saw chain carried out by a specialist workshop or
Service Centre.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
Storage
• Always use the guide cover for storage
• Remove the rechargeable battery from the tool before storing.
• Clean the chain saw before storage.
• Empty the oil tank with a suction pump before storage.
• Store the appliance in a dry, frost-free, well-ventilated place, protected from use and
out of the range of children.
• Only store the battery partly charged. When storing for extended periods, the charge
should be 40-60%.
• During a longer storage period, check the state of charge of the battery and recharge if
necessary roughly every 3 months.
• We recommend using the original package for storage or covering the product with a
suitable cloth or enclosure to protect it against dust.
• Regularly check the charge level of the battery pack, if it is to be stored for an extended
period. Optimum storage conditions are cool and dry.
• Avoid extreme cold or heat during storage.
