“Dynamic IP address” menu
Once connected to the internet, the Internet provider assigns a public IP
address to the RAS which remains valid during the duration of the
connection.
The user remote PC has to know that address to be able to connect to the
RAS through the internet.
3 possibilities are offered to communicate the RAS public IP address to
the remote PC or to user of the remote PC.
•
The RAS transmits its IP address to a well-known DynDns server.
•
The RAS transmits its IP address to the remote user by email.
•
The RAS transmits its IP address to a FTP server.

Transmission of the IP address to a DynDns server
Principle of DynDns operations
:
Step 1 : DynDns account subscription
An account has to be subscribed to DynDns.org (web
www.dyndns.org
).
It consists in a login, password and in the host name assigned to the RAS.
Any host name you wish can be assigned; for example, “etic-ras” can be
assigned, if it has not already been assigned.
Step 2 : RAS configuration
That host name, login and password have to be stored inside the RAS.
